Bhadohi, India | — Preparations are gathering momentum for the 50th edition of the India Carpet Expo (ICE), scheduled to be held from 4–7 October 2026 at Carpet Expo Mart, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.

Organised by the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), set up by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the landmark 50th edition is expected to bring together leading manufacturers and exporters of handmade carpets and floor coverings from across the country with buyers, importers, retailers, designers and sourcing professionals from around the world.

The response to exhibitor participation and space booking for the upcoming edition has been highly encouraging, reflecting the industry's strong confidence in the India Carpet Expo as one of the most important dedicated international sourcing platforms for handmade carpets and rugs. Exhibitors representing major carpet-producing clusters across India are expected to showcase a diverse range of handmade carpets, rugs and floor coverings featuring traditional craftsmanship, contemporary designs, sustainable materials and innovative product developments.

The Expo will provide international buyers with a unique opportunity to directly connect with Indian manufacturers and exporters and source from the country’s rich and diverse handmade carpet industry. The event is expected to attract buyers from key importing markets across the world, further strengthening business relationships and creating new opportunities for Indian exporters.

The 50th edition holds special significance as a landmark milestone in the journey of the India Carpet Expo. Over the years, the Expo has evolved into an important B2B platform connecting India’s handmade carpet industry with international markets and contributing to the global recognition of Indian craftsmanship.

India’s handmade carpet industry represents a unique combination of centuries-old skills and contemporary creativity. The Expo will showcase the diversity of India's carpet-producing regions, including the internationally renowned Bhadohi–Varanasi belt, known for its exquisite hand-knotted carpets, along with other important manufacturing clusters across the country producing a wide range of hand-tufted carpets, durries, rugs and other floor coverings.

The upcoming edition will also be organised during a significant period for India's international engagement, with India hosting the BRICS Presidency in 2026. The 50th India Carpet Expo will therefore provide an additional opportunity to strengthen trade engagement and business connections with BRICS markets and other emerging economies, while reinforcing India's position as a reliable and globally competitive sourcing destination.

Commenting on the preparations, Capt. Mukesh Kumar Gombar, Chairman, Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), said:
